Denver robbery triggers citywide emergency alert by mistake

DENVER — An emergency alert that was supposed to go to a small area of Denver Saturday unintentionally went to the entire city.

The Denver Police Department said an alert went out to people’s phones within a one-block radius of the intersection of West Gunnison Drive and South Zuni Street after an armed robbery.

The original alert told people within that radius to shelter in place while police looked for the two suspects…
