Injured bald eagle released after being rehabbed

WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A bald eagle that was found injured near a body of water earlier this year was released back into the wild on Wednesday.

The injured eagle was found on the shore at Croke Reservoir in Northglenn on Jan. 12 after it had been shot with a ball bearing. Colorado Parks and Wildlife took the raptor to a wildlife rehabilitation center for treatment.

After surgery to remove the ball bearing from its wing, the bald eagle was rehabbed over the next three months…
