Person rescued after car crashes into Clear Creek stream

DENVER (KDVR) — One individual was transported to the hospital Thursday night after a vehicle rolled into Clear Creek stream, following a single-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 76, east of Sheridan.

Adam’s County Fire Rescue said Friday that firefighters first extricated the “patient” from the stream below the highway, before using the bucket on their firetruck to rescue them by lowering down a stokes basket.

The agency said it chose to rescue the individual in this way after “weighing multiple options,” and added crews had trained “multiple times” on that specific rescue tactic just in the past few months.
