Shelter in place lifted after barricade situation at Arvada townhome complex

DENVER (KDVR) — A shelter in place has been lifted after a suspect barricaded themselves at the Willow Green Townhomes complex near 70th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Arvada on Saturday.

The Arvada Police Department, as of 12:11 p.m., said it “will still be working in the area” but that a shelter in place was lifted. Sheridan Boulevard has also reopened after initially being shut down between 72nd Avenue and 69th Avenue.

APD, when first announcing the barricade situation at 9:47 a.m., said its officers and the Jefferson County Regional SWAT Team were on the scene. As of 10:48 a.m., APD said its officers were still working to make contact with a suspect in an apartment…
