DENVER (KDVR) — An early May snowstorm left slushy roads, thousands without power and several downed trees across the Denver metro.
After a warm winter with a historically low snowpack, Colorado is getting a May snowstorm that left some areas with nearly 2 feet of snow. While snow in May isn’t that unusual, the amount of snow falling is approaching one of the largest May snowstorms in Denver’s history.

The heavy, wet snow is leaving several inches and slushy roads, but it’s also weighing down trees across the Denver metro, causing them to fall in roadways, yards and even on top of houses.
