JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A man will spend the next three decades in prison after being found guilty of kidnapping and torturing his roommate in 2024.
Jimmy Ray Smith II, 41, was sentenced to 32 years in prison with a mandatory three years of parole on Monday. In April, a jury found Smith guilty of 11 counts, including attempted murder, assault and kidnapping.
