Austin law firm to sue Denver over Frontier Airlines incident that killed a pedestrian

AUSTIN, Texas — An Austin law firm is one of two that are suing the City and County of Denver in Colorado over the incident at the Denver airport involving a Frontier Airlines plane hitting a pedestrian on the runway during its takeoff roll last Friday.

DJC Law, PLLC, “the largest Austin-based veteran-owned personal injury law firm in Texas” per its website, says they have filed a Notice of Claim on behalf of passengers who were aboard Frontier Flight 4345. The Airbus A321, carrying 231 people and bound for Los Angeles, struck a pedestrian during its takeoff on the night of May 8 at the Denver International Airport.

Phil Washington, CEO of the Denver airport, said that the pedestrian had climbed over a fence topped with barbed wire at around 11:13 p.m. that evening before being struck by the Frontier flight while crossing a runway. The impact caused the plane’s engine to catch fire, forcing passengers to evacuate during an aborted takeoff. Twelve people were injured in the incident, five of whom were taken to the hospital…
