Drivers say massive I-70 pothole damaged cars before permanent repair was completed

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A stretch of westbound Interstate 70 near Kipling Street is now covered with fresh black tar, after multiple drivers reported hitting a large pothole earlier this week.

One of those drivers was Keegan Vandermeer, who said he hit the pothole Monday while driving his mother’s Volkswagen Jetta.

“In the middle lane there was this giant pothole, about three or four feet long,” said Vandermeer. “It was hard to miss.”…
