A flood watch has been issued for a large part of South-Central Texas, the National Weather Service announced Friday afternoon. The watch will go into effect immediately, and it is scheduled to last until 1 a.m. Saturday.
The flood watch includes areas along the Interstate 35 corridor, as well as points eastward. This does include both the San Antonio and Austin metro areas, as well as New Braunfels, San Marcos, Round Rock and Burnet. Additionally, areas to the east of I-35, such as Seguin, Lockhart, Gonzales, Bastrop and La Grange are also included in the watch area.
While San Antonio is included in the watch area, weather models do suggest that the heaviest rainfall is most likely to stay northeast of the metro area, especially toward Seguin, Lockhart, Bastrop and parts of the Austin metro area…
