AUSTIN (KXAN) — SAFE Alliance has received one million dollars in federal funding to help build a new housing community for survivors of domestic violence, a project leaders say will provide stability, healing and hope for families escaping abuse.
The funding will go toward Sasha House, a planned 60-unit housing community in Austin that SAFE Alliance says will serve about 250 women, children and families experiencing homelessness after domestic violence.
