Terry Black’s BBQ is finally coming to Houston, so you can skip the drive to Austin

HOUSTON – If you’ve ever made the drive to Austin just to try Terry Black’s BBQ, or found yourself watching influencers rave about its massive beef ribs and melt-in-your-mouth brisket, good news: the famous barbecue joint is finally headed to Houston.

Terry Black’s BBQ announced it will open its first Houston restaurant on Aug. 18 at 1329 N. Shepherd Drive in the Heights. The long-awaited opening means Houstonians will no longer have to make the trip up Interstate 10 to get a taste of one of Texas’ most talked-about barbecue destinations.

Since opening in Austin in 2014, Terry Black’s has built a national following, thanks in part to social media, celebrity visits and viral food videos featuring towering “dino” beef ribs, brisket sliced to order and classic Central Texas barbecue.
