Texas has a new tallest building, and it’s not in Houston.
Lincoln Property Co. and Kairoi Residential have completed construction on Waterline, a 74-story, 1,025-foot mixed-use tower in downtown Austin that surpasses Houston’s JPMorgan Chase Tower by 23 feet to claim the title of Texas’s tallest building, a record the Houston tower had held since 1981, according to Multi-Housing News. The mixed-use property combines 352 residential units across 33 floors, roughly 700,000 square feet of office space across 24 floors, and 252 hotel keys spanning 13 floors, all on a 3.3-acre campus along Waller Creek near Lady Bird Lake.
The residential portion, branded Bosque Residences, offers one- to three-bedroom layouts, including penthouses, ranging from 701 to 2,803 square feet, with select units featuring waterfall kitchen islands, freestanding tubs, and wet and dry bars. Building amenities include a coworking lounge, conference rooms, a podcast recording space, a golf simulator, and multiple swimming pools. The development team included general contractor DPR Construction, design architect Kohn Pedersen Fox, architect of record HKS, and equity partner PSP Investments, one of Canada’s largest pension fund managers.
