AUSTIN (Austin Business Journal) — Black’s Barbecue recently acquired the former Trudy’s space on 409 W. 30th Street, which will approximately double its dining space from the restaurant’s current Austin location.
The 94-year-old barbecue joint opened at 3110 Guadalupe St. in 2014 and has five years remaining on its lease there. Owners are looking at an approximately two-year timeline to relocate to the former Trudy’s site, said Barrett Black, fourth generation pitmaster at Black’s Barbecue. Owning the property takes the pressure off the business owners from rushing into opening, allowing them to take their time designing the space, Black said.
