A beloved Asian restaurant that has been a part of the University of Texas at Austin community for more than two decades is closing its doors next month. CoCo’s Cafe, Austin’s first bubble tea shop, announced on social media that it will be shuttering its location at 1910 Guadalupe Street after nearly 26 years in business.
The colorful spot, known for its boba drinks and Taiwanese food, said its last day of operation will be Sunday, May 10. However, the restaurant confirmed its second location on Research Boulevard will remain open.
“This location has meant so much to my family and me,” said CoCo’s Cafe owner Joyce Yang in an Instagram post. “ Rooted in our Taiwanese heritage, this space has become a place where culture, food and connection blossomed.”…
