Austin man sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for drug trafficking, firearms charges

AUSTIN, Texas — An Austin man has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in federal prison for drug trafficking and firearm offenses, federal officials announced on Monday.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas, 32-year-old Blane Spear, also known as Jonathan Garza, was sentenced to 235 months in prison for methamphetamine trafficking. He also received a concurrent 180-month sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
