BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Highland High School Drama is headed to the Big Apple. Highland High theatre director Justin Thompson and Mia Salas joined 17 News at Sunrise to discuss the achievement.
Lead Actress Mia Salas won a prestigious award at the Rita Moreno Awards in San Jose and is now headed to perform on Broadway in New York City. According to the Kern High School District, this is not only a first for Highland High School, but the entire district.
