BPD: Speed, intoxication suspected after car hits pole, hydrant and wall in SW Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Speed and intoxication are believed to be factors in a crash where a vehicle hit a power pole, a fire hydrant, and a block wall in southwest Bakersfield Saturday afternoon.

The Bakersfield Police Department said on June 27th, 2026, at around 3:32 p.m., officers heard a crash in the 2300 block of Ashe Road and immediately responded.
