BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man accused of stabbing a 60-year-old man to death on Taylor Street in April has been found incompetent to stand trial, according to Kern County court records.
Jerome Andreas, 34, was evaluated on June 30 for a competency exam. He has been charged with the deadly stabbing of Michael Gauthier in the 600 block of Taylor Street on April 15.
After it was discovered that Andreas was a suspect in the case, Bakersfield Police Department detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest.
