BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — New state filings show significant staffing changes at two of Kern County’s largest hospital providers.
Adventist Health and Dignity Health are both cutting jobs at their Kern Hopsitals. A report from the state unemployment department shows 57 layoffs at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.

In a statement to 17 News, a Dignity Health spokesperson said:
Memorial Hospital is facing unprecedented economic pressures, soaring costs, and complex government and payer dynamics. To support long-term sustainability and uphold our commitment to serving our communities, we are taking a number of steps to improve efficiency and reduce costs…
