Parole denied for killer of Princess Almonidovar in 2014 DUI crash in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Alex Anthony Rubio did everything wrong on Jan. 3, 2014.

First, he got behind the wheel after drinking. Then he sped at nearly 120 mph on city streets, smashing into a car driven by 22-year-old Princess Almonidovar, who died on impact.

Rubio, uninjured, left his wrecked vehicle and jumped a wall then hid in a backyard. When spotted by Bakersfield police officers, he ran, climbing three fences before officers caught and, following a struggle, placed him in handcuffs…
