BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Board of Supervisors approved new grant money from a federal funding pool to go toward Meadows Field Airport’s master plan update.
The approved funding is for $1.9 million from the Federal Aviation Administration and it will be issued to help further fund the Airport Master Plan at Meadows Field.
In the Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 15, Kern County Director of Airports Bill LaManque said the airport’s Master Plan is a “phased, 20-year development program” that has a roadmap outlining each investment made in the airport so “each improvement to the airport enables the next.”
