BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — For some fair goers, it’s the single best reason, maybe even the only reason, to attend the Kern County Fair: Old West Cinnamon Rolls, the Pismo Beach institution, is back for its 50th year at this fair. Now, with four locations scattered around the fairgrounds, you almost can’t avoid these folks. Abandon hope, dieters, at least for the next 12 days.
We live in a tumultuous world, so any reassurances we can get that certain comforting aspects of our lives are stable and intact are most welcome.

Here’s one. Not only is the Kern County Fair and its simple, familiar pleasures back for another year, one of its oldest and most beloved participants has returned. Returned bigger than ever before.
Old West Cinnamon Rolls is back for its 50th year. Along with rodeos, livestock, corn dogs and funny hats, these delicacies are a must-experience. Must-eat. And eat them we do, by the thousands every year…
