Fountain at The Marketplace removed, renovations underway

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The fountain at The Marketplace has been removed because it has “reached the end of its lifespan,” according to owners.

Owners plan to incorporate amenities that are energy efficient and environmentally friendly, according to The Marketplace’s website.

The area where the fountain used to be — near the Edwards Cinemas — is now surrounded by fencing. Artificial turf will be temporarily added.
