Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to host ‘Blessing of the Animals’ Sunday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — First Congregational Church and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will host their annual “Blessing of the Animals” event on Sunday.

You care welcome to bring pets of all sizes, scaled and hoofed, horned and furry, to enjoy an animal fair with a blessing for you and your pets. The fair is taking happening at the corner of Stockdale Highway and Real Road at beginning at 10 a.m.

Kern residents invited to join One Book Project, explores themes of adoption and cultural identity

The outdoor event will feature booths and vendors with animal friendly treats and background information in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of the animal kingdom.

Human food will also be available, according to organizers.
