Walmart to remodel stores across the state, including Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — To help strengthen its presence in California, Walmart has announced it will remodel more than 50 of its stores across the state – including one Bakersfield location.

The retail giant said it is planning to upgrade some stores around the state, including expanding healthy foods options, affordable “on-trend” items and enhancing both the in-store and online shopping experience.

Out of its 56 California stores being remodeled, the Walmart store in northeast Bakersfield, located at 2601 Fashion Place, will see new investments.

Specifically, the remodel will include upgrading store layouts, technology and services to “offer faster, more convenient shopping and delivery in as little as an hour for most customers,” the company said in a statement on Thursday…
