La Mirage Hotel demolition could begin in June: city

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield City Council is being asked to approve an agreement with a contractor to demolish La Mirage Hotel, a site that has been home to multiple fires and code enforcement troubles in recent years.

The motel is a 16,127-square-foot building at 525 Union Ave.

City staff is asking the City Council to approve an agreement with Bowen Engineering & Environmental for $202,500 for the demolition of the building.

Bowen would be in charge of removing the remaining structure completely, along with the debris, fences, foundation materials like concrete pads, junk and trash and all accessory structures…
