White Marsh man charged with illegal firearm possession at Indian Springs WMA

CLEAR SPRING, Md. — A White Marsh man faces up to 19 years in prison after state authorities allegedly found him in possession of illegal firearms while turkey hunting in Washington County last month.

Maryland Natural Resources Police officers were on routine patrol of the Indian Springs Wildlife Management Area near Blair’s Valley Road on May 10 when they spotted an unoccupied truck parked north of Blair’s Valley Lake, according to a department press release.

Officers later made contact with two individuals armed with shotguns who were returning to the vehicle after hunting. While checking the compliance of their hunting licenses, investigators discovered that one of the hunters, a 47-year-old man from White Marsh, was legally prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior disqualifying felony conviction…
