Lakeland graduate gets call up and call home

MOOSIC, PA (WBRE/WYOU) — Adam Retzbach is back to the NEPA. The Lakeland graduate got the call; he is heading to the Baltimore Orioles Triple-A affiliate the Norfolk Tides. However, the Tides weren’t playing in Norfolk at the time of his call up. They were in Scranton, playing in Retzbach’s backyard at PNC Field.

Retzback was drafted in 2022 by Baltimore. The Orioles selected the PA native in the fourteenth round of the MLB draft.

This is not Retzbach’s first trip to Triple-A. The catching prospect was called up earlier this month for a weekend series, appearing in one game. This season Retzbach played mostly with the Orioles Double-A team, the Chesapeake Bay Sox. In 54 games with the Bay Sox, Retzbach batted .169 with three home runs, and 24 RBI. The Lakeland alum spent all of 2025 with Chesapeake, after spending with in Single-A with Delmarva and Aberdeen in 2023 and 2024…
