A 20-year-old Harford County man pleaded guilty on Aug. 14 to fatally shooting Broderick Morris in Downtown Baltimore last November, following defense counsel’s denied motion to dismiss the case.
During Friday’s proceedings before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Catherine Chen, the prosecutor offered Tyrell Tucker a conditional plea of life, suspending all but 45 years, and five years of supervised probation for first-degree murder and a concurrent 20 years, the first five years without parole, for using a firearm in commission of a violent crime. However, the plea offer was dependent upon Judge Chen’s ruling on defense attorney Avrohom Greenfield’s motion to dismiss Tucker’s case for going beyond his July 29 Hicks date, or right to be tried within 180 days of the defendant’s or his attorney’s first court appearance.
Greenfield also informed the court of a second motion to dismiss some of the firearm-related charges against Tucker, but said the motion would be withdrawn subject to Judge Chen’s ruling on the first motion…
