For generations, one corner of Sparrows Point has been more than just a store — it has been a gathering place, a neighborhood landmark and a part of countless childhood memories.
In the early 1940s, Elmer H. Cook Sr. and his wife, Elva, opened Fort Howard Supply and Service at 9040 North Point Road. Known simply as “Cook’s Store” by locals, it faithfully served the Sparrows Point community for nearly 50 years before closing its doors.
