Baltimore is about to lose its last Bloomin’ Onion.
The Outback Steakhouse at 2400 Boston St. in Canton is closing before the end of the year, the co-owner of the Canco complex confirmed this week. When the doors shut for the last time, Baltimore will be left without a single Outback Steakhouse within city limits, ending a run of more than two decades at one of the neighborhood’s most recognized dining destinations.
Why the landlord is ready to move on
The closure is not coming from a lack of business. Jeremy Landsman, who co-owns the Canco complex, said the restaurant had been doing well. But he sees the departure as an opening to bring in something that better fits his vision for the property, and that vision does not involve national chains.
Landsman and his partners purchased the former Can Company complex in 2024 and have since been steadily reshaping the roughly 200,000-square-foot development on Boston Street, rebranding it as Canco in a nod to its longtime nickname…
