The Maryland Transit Administration is encouraging commuters to leave their cars at home and take public transportation for free as part of Car Free Day.
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, riders will be able to ride free on Maryland MTA services as the agency celebrates the annual event, which promotes public transportation and other alternatives to driving.
Car Free Day encourages residents to reduce the number of vehicles on the road by choosing transit, walking, biking, carpooling or other transportation options.
