Families with loved ones under nursing home care concerned over complaint process in Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Some families who rely on nursing homes to take care of loved ones, who can’t get the same kind of care at home, are concerned about the complaint process. Married for 26 years, Mary Herring said her husband, Mark Herring, was smart, caring and lots of fun. The retired NASA engineer died at age 80. Since then, Mary Herring has been on a mission, describing her concerns about his stay at Autumn Lake Health Care at Spa Creek in Annapolis, and reporting them to state officials.
