Armed Robbery Attempt at Hanover Exxon Ends Without Cash as Clerk Refuses Gunman

Hanover, MD — An overnight armed robbery attempt at a Hanover gas station ended without cash stolen after a clerk refused a gunman’s demands, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Officers responded around 12:40 a.m. April 21 to the Exxon at 7671 Arundel Mills Boulevard, where a man displayed a handgun during a purchase and demanded money from the register, police said.

Clerk refuses demand, suspect flees

Investigators said the suspect entered the store and approached the counter as if making a purchase. When the employee opened the register, the man produced a handgun and demanded cash.
