Road crews to begin safety project on MD 150 in Middle River

MIDDLE RIVER, MD—State transportation officials announced Monday the launch of a new safety project on Eastern Boulevard in Baltimore County, the latest in a series of Complete Streets Quick-Build initiatives designed to rapidly protect pedestrians and cyclists.

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will implement the project along MD 150 at the intersection of Old Eastern Avenue. The agency described the effort as part of its “Complete Streets” program, which uses low-cost, innovative measures to improve safety for those who walk, bike or use wheelchairs.

Agency officials said the project includes the installation of a curb extension at the southeast corner of the intersection and the implementation of a “No Turn on Red” restriction for both right-turn lanes from Old Eastern Avenue onto eastbound Eastern Boulevard…
