Black River Technical College (BRTC) Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) Instructor Ashley Boles recently attended the annual Lifesavers Conference on Roadway Safety in Baltimore, Maryland, where he presented and was recognized with a national award.
Boles received the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Law Enforcement Award for his work as the Breath Alcohol Testing (B.A.T.) Mobile program coordinator at LETA. He was nominated by Bridget White of the Arkansas State Police Highway Safety Office in Little Rock for his leadership and the role he plays in removing impaired drivers from Arkansas’s highways. This was the first year NHTSA has presented an award to law enforcement, and Boles was one of five officers in the country to be selected to receive the award.
Along with being recognized, Boles was also a presenter at the conference. He spoke during the Innovative Programs in Law Enforcement session and presented “High Visibility Impaired Driving Prevention Practices.”…
