New testing reveals prevalence of Baton Rouge restaurants mixing farm-raised and wild-caught seafood

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — New testing conducted by SeaD Consulting reveals many restaurants across the state are either ignoring mislabeling laws or skirting them through a process called commingling.

Commingling involves mixing wild-caught and farm-raised seafood to still adhere to labeling laws, which require a place to publicly display a sign if its seafood is not locally sourced.
