BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – More than 30 years after becoming a teen mother herself, Anitra Monroe is turning her personal experience into a mission to help young women facing similar challenges.
Monroe and her daughter, Hikita Foster, operate Blooming Butterflies Maternity Home, a Baton Rouge-based nonprofit that provides support and resources for teenage and young mothers.
