PLAQUEMINE, La. (WAFB) – The widow of fallen Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Charles Riley filed a wrongful death lawsuit Monday against Sheriff Brett Stassi, his son, and the sheriff’s office.
The lawsuit alleges the sheriff, his son, and the department were negligent. According to the lawsuit, the alleged negligence led to Riley’s death on Oct. 6, 2025.
