ST. GABRIEL — Born with spina bifida and facing the theft of her prized automobile and custom wheelchair, Kristie Mascerella knows something about taking the negative twists of life and turning them into positives.
Just over a year ago, Mascerella’s Dodge Challenger Hellcat was stolen from her driveway in the middle of the night. Inside the specially modified car was a custom LSU wheelchair that cost around $10,000.
