Fear grows in Baker as police seek more suspects in school-area shooting

BAKER, La. (Louisiana First) — Authorities are continuing to investigate a shooting near Baker High School that left a student injured and prompted officials to move summer school classes online.

According to the Baker Police Department, gunfire erupted Wednesday near the campus during summer school activities, with dozens of students in the area at the time. One student was struck and injured. Officials say the student is expected to recover.
