Baton Rouge man reflects on survival story after good Samaritans rescued him from water in Grand Isle

What started out as a peaceful trip to Grand Isle for one Louisiana family turned into a survival story in the waters of the Gulf of America.

Joshua Broussard, a Baton Rouge native, and his three children were spending several days, Sunday, June 6 to Wednesday, June 10, on their family trip in Grand Isle. Broussard and his family were staying in one of the cabins at Bridge Side Cabins and Marina.

When Broussard and his family first arrived at Bridge Side Cabins and Marina, he stated that their cabin wasn’t ready, so they decided to go eat brunch at the Hurricane Hole. After Broussard and his family were done eating brunch, they came back to Bridge Side Cabins and Marina to wait until their room was ready, so they could unpack their luggage…
