Prairieville man accused of selling drugs out of ‘barbershop’

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An Ascension Parish man is accused of selling drugs out of a “barbershop” in Assumption Parish.

Jermaine A. Blaine, 41, of Prairieville, faces several charges, including:

  • possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana
  • unlawful possession, production, or distribution of kratom
  • transactions involving proceeds from controlled dangerous substance activity

An investigation by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office into a business at 5488 Highway 1 in Bertrandville led to investigators obtaining a search warrant.

APSO said the business was operating as a “barbershop” and deputies received several complaints about controlled dangerous substances being sold out of this location…
