ASCENSION PARISH, La. (WAFB) – An animal shelter in Ascension Parish will close to the public for about two weeks due to a possible exposure of canine distemper.
According to Cara’s House, the facility plans to only allow employees inside the shelter until at least Monday, July 6.
Officials with Cara’s House said they picked up a previously adopted dog on Thursday, June 18, from another facility that has confirmed cases of distemper in its dog population. More details about which specific facility the dog was picked up from were not released…
