Gunfire at party leads to arrest in Livingston Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Denham Springs man was arrested after Livingston Parish deputies said he fired a gun during a Fourth of July party, sending a projectile through a neighboring home.

Deputies responded to Lexington Drive shortly after 9 p.m. after a projectile entered a home through a window, traveled through multiple walls, and lodged in a laundry room, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators found more than 20 spent shell casings at a nearby home where about 25 people were attending a party. After interviews and a search warrant, Lawrence Pierre Jr., 24, admitted to firing the weapon, deputies said.
