Baton Rouge judge temporarily blocks legislation that would have cut three Orleans Parish Criminal Court judgeships

BATON ROUGE, La. (WGNO) — A law that would have removed three Orleans Parish Criminal Court judges was temporarily blocked by a Baton Rouge judge on Tuesday, July 14.

Judge Tarvald Smith stopped the law from taking effect while he continues to review it.
