BATON ROUGE, La. — Baton Rouge Police Chief TJ Morse is seeking to launch a Police Support Specialist Program that would allow former sworn personnel to return to the Baton Rouge Police Department as contract workers performing civilian duties.
The proposal, outlined in a document filed with the city by Morse and Human Resources Director LaToya Pierson, would create part-time, non-law enforcement positions to help with administrative and operational work, according to the filing.
