BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — As the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells continues to draw national attention, the United Cajun Navy is warning that online rumors and unverified claims are making it harder for the public to separate facts from speculation.
Wells disappeared during a July 4 boating trip to Horn Island in Mississippi. His body was found along the island’s shoreline two days later.
Todd Terrell, president of the United Cajun Navy, said the organization joined the search July 5, using boats and aircraft to cover the coastline. The group has remained in contact with Wells’ family and has continued reviewing information circulating about the case…
