Baton Rouge teacher named Louisiana Teacher of the Year

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WAFB) – A Baton Rouge educator has been named Louisiana’s new Teacher of the Year.

Alisha Butler, a teacher at the Louisiana Special School District in Baton Rouge, received the honor during the annual Dream Teachers Gala hosted by the Louisiana Department of Education.

Butler will also receive the use of a new Mercedes-Benz for one year.
