Parents accused of leaving child who ate THC gummy to attend LSU game

SCOTT, La. (Acadiana News First) – An Acadiana couple is facing several charges after their young child took a THC gummy and the couple left to attend LSU’s game against Louisiana Tech, authorities said.

Mary Cormier, 36, and David Butt, 34, each face the following counts:

  • Second-degree cruelty to juveniles
  • Child desertion
  • Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles (3 counts)

Jail records show they have been released after posting bond.
